A curated selection of popular varieties
At Mavuno, we grow a carefully chosen collection of well-loved avocado varieties to share with the world. This collection includes the hugely popular and richly-flavoured Hass and the creamy and green-skinned Fuerte. Seasonally, we also grow the Jumbo; a large and luscious varietal.
As our network of farmers continues to expand across the country, some of our avocados are transitioning to organic. These ‘in-conversion’ avocados are also available, marketed as ‘Conventional’. Please contact the team for availability and more information.

Each plays a starring role in ensuring the integrity and authenticity of our organic produce. Our process includes a robust digitised track-and-trace system that closely follows our produce’s journey from farm to fork.

Certifications and commitment to Fairtrade
Every product grown, harvested, and distributed by Mavuno is certified for Non-EU organic agriculture standards, GlobalGap, Grasp, Global Gap Chain of Custody (CoC), Spring, and SMETA.
We’re thrilled to have embarked on our Fairtrade certification journey. This goes hand-in-hand with our utmost dedication to fairtrade and transparency. It also highlights the uplifting socio-economic impact we aim to have on all our smallholder farmers and workers.
We are undertaking this initiative in collaboration with Eosta BV Netherlands, a leading importer and distributor of organic and fairtrade fruits and vegetables in the Netherlands.

Our process is a testament to quality and efficiency, with our produce making its way from the tree to the packhouse in eight hours.
Mavuno’s deliciously high-quality Hass and Fuerte avocados are packed in either 4kg or 10kg corrugated or plastic boxes at our FSSC 22000 certified packhouse in Ruiru, Kenya. They are then kept cool at a crisp 5o C. Transported in reefer containers and standard routing, it takes 25-30 days to arrive in major European ports.

Peak Season
Our avocados are available during the peak season from March to August each year.
Low Season
In the low season, February, September and October, our avocados are still available.
Out of Season
November, December and January each year, there is very limited availability.
