Our Farmers
Our Fairtrade Certified Avocados
Mavuno is a Fairtrade certified trader working with Fairtrade certified producer groups. Through this supply chain, avocados are traded under Fairtrade standards that support transparent trading relationships and provide producer groups with the Fairtrade Premium to invest in farm improvements, community projects and business development.
We work closely with smallholder avocado farmers to maintain long-term, transparent relationships focused on quality, traceability and responsible sourcing. By trading in Fairtrade certified avocados, we contribute to more stable market access and support ongoing progress towards stronger and more resilient farming communities.
Our aim is to deliver high-quality avocados to our customers while supporting farming partners through responsible and transparent trade.

Supporting our workers with living wages
We are proud pioneers in Kenya’s organic produce industry. Our businesses, farms, and growers are all dedicated to achieving the pinnacle of organic farming practices. We ensure all our farmers know climate change and support them in mitigating its effects.
We provide training, knowledge, and resources, cultivating a mindset of collective care for our planet so that each of our farmers is driven to protect our environment by adopting sustainable farming systems.
Achieving Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), created by the United Nations in 2015, provide an actionable framework to propel the planet toward a more equitable and sustainable future. There are 17 goals total, and at Mavuno, we can impact several spheres within them. We’re pleased to report our contribution to the following SDGs:
No poverty
We’re taking great strides on our Fairtrade journey and offer a high living wage that goes above and beyond legislative requirements. We connect our producers with invaluable opportunities and new markets and provide steady work for our team.
Zero hunger
By paying our workers and farmers a high living wage, we provide the income they need to keep themselves and their families well-nourished and well-fed.
Good Health and Wellbeing
We care deeply about our people’s health and well-being and take steps to protect the safety of their work environments.
Quality Education
Our dedication to education is two-fold. First, with a high living wage, we’re supporting our workers to support their children’s education. Second, we focus on our workers’ education providing the equipment, expertise, and professional development they need to succeed.
